Today is Day 16 of our 35 Day Spiritual Adventure of getting to know and then actively praying for Northern Thailand Impact Ministry (NTIM) and all of the various unreached people groups in and around Northern Thailand. Thank you for joining us for this great time of seeking the face of God on behalf of millions who have never heard the message of our Lord Jesus.
DAY 16 – Helping Thai Children With HIV/AIDS Celebrating Christmas – December 13, 2013
As I write this update I am reflecting on the amazing God we serve and the awesome opportunities we have this Christmas season in Thailand to express the love and message of Jesus to the lost and the hurting.
Tomorrow we have a group of about 12 people from Baan Athitaan Church who will be getting up early in the morning and heading out to a community hospital in one of the Khon Muang UPG villages where one of our staff is from. NTIM has developed an HIV/AIDS ministry that seeks to assist and help those that are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Part of our focus is to assist and help over 20 children from this village and surrounding villages whom have been infected by HIV/AIDS from the time they were born. At least one of their parents have already died from HIV/AIDS and several have already lost both parents and are living with relatives.
We assist and help these children and their families in many different ways but our resources are extremely limited. One of ways that we help them each year during this time of year is through putting on a Christmas celebration specifically for them at the local community hospital. That event will be taking place tomorrow morning.
Here is a powerful yet short 4 minute video clip of our celebration with them a few years ago that will help you get a feel for how important this event is to the lives of these precious children and their families. Please take a moment and watch it. It will be good for your heart. Please click on the link:
Prayer Example:“Lord, we have been reminded today that there are innocent little children in Northern Thailand that have been infected by HIV/AIDS and many of them feel unloved and rejected from the community. Yet, Your Word tells us that You love the little children. We thank You for the various ministries that You have put in the hands of NTIM and its partners. We ask that as they prepare for this Christmas celebration tomorrow, that you would use them to be Your hands and Your feet. Help them to love on the little children just like You would love on these little children. Help their hearts and the hearts of their families to be open to hearing the gospel as it is shared very clearly tomorrow. We pray this in Jesus name. Amen. “
