Please take a few minutes to read and pray about what God is doing in Bangkok! God bless, Kim
~ Friends and Family ~
It doesn‟t seem too long ago that I packed my bags and nervously made my way to the city of Bangkok to start language study. My time here has been more than I ever could have imagined. God has not only faithfully provided for me but has blessed me abundantly with amazing friends with has spurred me on in my relationship with God and whom I have minister to the lost alongside. I have one month left here and I am focusing my time on the relationships God has placed in my life here. Please pray for two girls in particular that are not Christians—my Chinese friend Germe and a law student Pui. Also pray that I can spend time with my 3 closest friends here Giggs, Kik, and Oh to help encourage them and spend time in the Word with them, strengthening God‟s church.
My Thai class I am in just took a field trip together to “The Reclining Buddha” temple. This is a picture of my 2 classmates, Germe and Wai Phyo along with my teacher, Jutatip. All are Buddhist and this is of them giving food to the monk to earn merit and receive a blessing. During our trip I was saddened as I saw them bow down and worship several Buddha statues. I pray that God may use me as a light during the time I get to spend with them each day, and one day my friends will worship their Creator instead of created images.
****OTHER PRAYER REQUESTS****
1) Other Unbelievers—Pimjai, Oh, Not, Pha, Bow
2) Continue to pray for my language study so I can better relate to the Thai people.
3) Pray for a trip I will be taking with my mother and hometown chruch to Israel next month.
4) Pray for Thailand, there is much division over politics and many people have died. Pray that the government may have wisdom in how to handle the situation and that God would have mercy on this country and restore unity.
What God has been teaching me…
“A popular question among believers is, „What happens to the people who have never heard the gospel?‟ Perhaps a better question is, „What will happen to the people that have the gospel and have not told it to those who have never heard?”
A couple of nights ago I opened my Bible and for some reason started reading the book of Ezekiel. My friend was with me reading her Bible also and as I finished Chapter one, all I could say was, “The book of Ezekiel is SO weird!” In the chapter it talks about Ezekiel‟s vision of creatures with many faces of different animals and several wings and how each creature has a wheel that follows them…much of what I don‟t understand. But I continued to read on… “go, shut yourself inside your house…open your mouth and eat what I give you… eat this scroll; then go and speak… go speak to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me…tell them what the Lord says, whether they listen or fail to listen… „When I say to a wicked man, „you will surely die,‟ and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.‟” Ezekiel 3:18
Some things in Ezekiel I don‟t understand, but this part I did understand. Such strong words, words that show we have a responsibility– we have a commandment from God to tell people destined for eternity in hell the Good News of Jesus Christ! I pray that each of us not let what we don‟t understand keep us from doing the things that we do know. Let‟s not focus on the talents we don‟t have and the places we are not and instead focus on what God has given us and the place He has us in now to expand His kingdom for the sake of His glory!
“By the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony…let the nations be free.”
May God give us hearts that cry, yearn, thirst, and hunger for His glory,
Kim
