Praise the Lord, all you nations! Extol Him, all you peoples! For great is His steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!
Psalm 117
Thailand as a whole has 114 different people groups and 80 of the 114 are unreached. Buddhism is the main religion of Thailand and only 1.3% of the population are professing Christians. Many of the people have never heard of Jesus or His message. God has given us an amazing opportunity to reach these people in the heart of the 10/40 window. Our church plant, Baan Athitaan Church, is made up of at least 22 different people groups from all over Asia and other countries in the world! God is truly at work. Our 6 Thai national partners represent 4 different unreached people groups (UPGs) the Mueng, Mien, Hmong, and Akha people groups. They are working alongside us to reach their people as well as others. God has charged us with a mission to GO and TELL the people. The three largest UPGs in Thailand are the Central Thai, Northern Thai, and the Esan people. Chiang Rai is in Northern Thailand which makes it easier to reach the Northern Thai UPG. Even though we do not live amongst the Central Thai and Esan UPGs, God is using us to reach them one at a time in Chiang Rai. He has given us many natural avenues to reach the UPGs such as teaching English and providing humanitarian aid.
