KARA’S ROLE: Kara will be headed to the Field in August 2010 and will begin her 2 years term of service with the first couple of weeks focused on learning how to live, serve, and thrive as a “culturally appropriate outsider.” Kara’s main roles for the next two years will be in two areas.
1) The first area of ministry focus for Kara will be related to building bridges to the lost through teaching English through our English language school called Grace Language School (GLS). GLS is registered and approved under the Ministry of Education of Thailand as an English language school. GLS is owned and operated by Channel of Blessing Foundation which is NTIM’s sister foundation.
2) The second area of ministry focus for Kara will be in assisting in our children’s home called “Baan Oon Rak” which translated means “House of Warm Love.” This is one of our compassion ministries to the poor and to young girls who are at high risk. One of NTIM’s responses to the huge problem of human trafficking is the ministry of Baan Oon Rak. We currently provide a children’s home for 13 young girls, ages 4 to 13. All of these girls are from broken families who are very poor. Kara will be serving as Jesus’ hands and feet loving on these kids, helping them in the mornings before school and after school, as well as serving as a “big sister.” These are the two primary roles where Kara will be serving, but like all of us, Kara will also be serving in various other areas of the ministry God has put in our hearts and hands.
PRAYER NEED: God responds to the prayers of His people. Kara is taking a huge step of faith as she has begun this journey of faith on her way to Thailand. She will be coming to work as an NTIM team member and needs faithful prayer warriors who will not only pray for Kara but for all of her team members and all of those who come in contact with Kara including tens of thousands of lost people living in darkness without the message of Jesus. We are asking God to give us 1,000 Covenant Prayer Partners for 2010 who will commit to faithfullly pray for us as we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We want your prayers. We need your prayers. We ask for your prayers. if you would like to become one of our Covenant Prayer Partners, please email our Field Director, Michael Johnson, at pray4ntim@gmail.com and he will be happy to send you a copy of this covenant.
FINANCIAL NEED: NTIM is a faith based 501c charitable organization and is able to send people to the field like Kara through the generous gifts of individuals, churches, and organizations that support God’s work through NTIM. We do not want the issue of “having to raise financial support” to be a hindrance to people like Kara coming to the field and have decided as a ministry that we will work together as a team to help raise the support needed to continue to bring folks out to the field like Kara.
Over the next 2 years, it will take approximately $24,000 to fully support Kara being on the field. If you know Kara and would like to affirm her serving the Lord, please consider becoming a financial partner with NTIM on a monthly basis. If you are not able to commit to a monthly donation, maybe you want to consider making a donation from time to time.
All of your donations to NTIM are tax deductible and help us send good people like Kara to places where millions have never heard about Jesus. Checks can be made out to NTIM, P.O. Box 26115, Birmingham, AL 35260 or online at www.gontim.org
