Two weeks ago the Prime Minister announced a plan for peace with 5 main areas with the the first upholding the longstanding culture of having a king. At first it appeared that everyone thought it was a good plan. However, there are some people who do not want peace and violence has erupted in Bangkok.
As I write this email from Chiang Rai, some 900 kilometers North of Bankok, even Chiang Rai has been placed on a curfew tonight from 8:00PM to 6:00AM. It is not 8:00PM and we had a very short prayer meeting so that eveyone could get home by 8:00PM.
Please pray for God’s mercy amidst tremendous hate and anger in Thailand. We have heard reports that 3 government offices outside of Bankok have been burned and it is expected that there will be others that will be burnt. Pray that the very, very, small percentage of Christians in this country (less than 1/2 of 1 percent of 66 million people) will be the salt and light of our Lord Jesus during these troubled times.
THAILAND IS IN NEED OF YOUR PRAYERS. THAILAND IS IN NEED OF OUR LORD JESUS.
Please say a special prayer for Josh Grammer who is from Emmanuel Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL where Hope and I were married 25 years ago this June 14. Please pray as he is currently in the air and will be landing in Bangkok at about midniight tonight and will be traveling on to Chiang Rai in the morning. The airports still appear to be safe and we are very glad that Josh “STAYED THE COURSE” and will be able to server our Great God here in Chiang Rai very soon.
From the Field,
Michael
“No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength…But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love.” (Psalm 33:16-18)
